Mudfire Show with Gillian Parke

So here goes my monthly post to my blog, makes it more of a mlog I guess.  I wanted to get the word out about a show at Mudfire Gallery in Decatur, GA that I have with Gillian Parke.  The show is up May 9-30 with an opening reception May 9, 5-9pm.  Gillian and I will be on hand at the opening to visit with attendees.   Gillian has very interesting work, high fired porcelain forms with shino and celadon glazes, but further enhanced and layered with feldspar inclusions, lusters, and decals, some of her own making and others reassembled from commercial sources.  I will have some new sugar and creamer sets, as well as a good selection of my "Gorignac Jars".  The show will include a myriad of colors, surface, and textures between our two bodies of work, which span earthenware, stoneware, and porcelain clays and temperatures.  Check it out if you have a chance, or please let your friends know about the show.  We are very excited about showing together and how our unique styles will play off one another.

Check out www.mudfire.com/parke-peterson.htm for more info on the show and how to get to Mudfire Gallery.

  1. I meant to tell you that I had such a nice talk with Gillian at the CDC. I had no idea I had met her before years ago at Spalato
( Marty was there that year also!).
It is very cool that she has twins also and has done so well without finishing the program at ECU. Please tell her I said hello! jen
